Emo Revolution in 2009

The emo revolution is upon us in 2009. Some of the biggest bands of second wave emo are getting back together for tours and are re-releasing albums. On December 12th 2008 The Get Up Kids re-released their first album "Four Minute Mile"(1997). In January 2009 they re-released their second album "Something to Write Home About"(1999). The Get Up Kids broke up in 2005 but recently reunited to do a US tour. They will playing Austin on November 18th at Emos, and San Antonio on September 29th. Sunny Day Real Estate just re-released their first two albums,"Diary"(1994) and LP2(1995), on September 15th 2009. They are doing an US and European tour. They will be playing Austin on October 7th at La Zona Rosa.

Austin Hardcore

Jason Jackowiak of tripwire.com has been exploring some hardcore releases from Austin. It looks like he likes what he's found. He reviewed Mammoth Grinder, Branch Davidian, and Total Abuse.

Dropdead playing in Austin on 2/12

Dropdead will be playing at Red 7 on Thursday Feb 12th. They are also playing a show in Houston at a Junkyard. If you like really fast pissed off music then don't miss this it will be an awesome show.

Hardcore Is Back

Check out this article in fact magazine. The author claims that hardcore is back and more relevant than ever. He also makes a top 20 hardcore albums according to him.
