Live in-studio interview with HUMUT TABAL tonight at midnight

Hello metal fans of Austin and beyond. My radio show, Equilibria Radio, is a metal show on 91.7 FM KVRX Austin, student radio for the University of Texas at Austin. My personal specialty is the so-called "Euro-metal" (Gothic metal. symphonic metal, melodeath, power metal), but my love for Austin lead me to prominently feature Austin and Texas metal on the show.

FLAVOR OF THE WEEK Volume I
KVRX Presents: Flavor of the Week
Each week from 9-10pm, deejay Kelsey O. plays a sampling of musical acts that will be performing in the Austin area within the next 7 days. She sorts through website after website, venue calendar after venue calendar, and band after band to bring YOU, the music-lover and music-goer, the best acts to expect in the next week. Want a one-stop place to hear new music, find out what shows are coming up, when and where they are, and which of these are worth the cover? Well, Flavor of the Week is the show for you. Let Kelsey O. do the tedious task of visiting venue websites, following band tweets, sorting through Facebook events, and searching Myspace tour schedules while all YOU have to do is listen with a pen in one hand and your calendar in the other.

Scales (Apples in Stereo, Iasos)
Hey guys,
I stumbled upon an article about how Robert Schneider, the guy behind Elephant 6 pop band Apples in Stereo, created his own musical scale for his newest album Travellers in Space and Time.
I then found a video of Robert explaining his new scale with great enthusiasm:

The song "C.P.U" makes good use of the new scale.
His website also has more info on the math behind the scale.
All this talk of scales reminded me of a great video of a guy named Iasos playing Ancient Greek scales on a flute:
