    Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our pledge drive this year, which wrapped up last week. It was really successful, and your generosity goes a long way toward securing a vibrant future for independent radio and student creativity alike. It means a lot to get support and encouragement from the community, and we're so lucky to have such cool listeners and supporters.

    On this week's Artist Hour (Saturday, 10 PM) we will be exploring the vast catologue of London's Wire.  Pink Flag (1977) has been called one of the most original debuts to come out of England's punk-scene and have released 12 albums through 2011 and plan to release a new album "Change Becomes Us" in March 2013.

    On Friday, Febuary 22, PBS will air a special documentary on Sister Rosetta Tharpe titled "The Godmother of Rock and Roll".  So in honor of this ocasion, I have decided that I would explain to everyone reading this why I think that Sister Rosetta Tharpe may in fact be the most influential, if not one of the greatest, musicians to have ever lived.
