Japan happens to be one of the hottest (and only) scenes for juke & footwork right now, and the scene is condensed as all get out. In this album, Seimei splits ten tracks with Paisley Parks member Kent Alexander, each getting five takes on the jittery Chicage style we know and love. With some great tunes featuring silly samples and vulgar samples, to even a footwork mix of The Who's "Who Are You," Back on the Blue shows off one of the coolest types of dance music in Japan. It's not anything groundbreaking, but it's polishes well enough to stick out - a lot.
This album was released in the wake of some new discoveries of North Korea's nuke potential, and yet, somehow #Seimei trended higher on Japanese twitter for over a day. A big deal, I guess?
