On a whim I went to see the Black Lips at Emos on Friday. It was sold out by the time I got there, but the door guy let me in after kicking a bunch of ruffians out. It was a pretty cool scene inside. In front of the stage, sweaty kids were throwing beer into the air and colliding exuberantly. The band had rotating cast of bass players who played a few songs each before retreating back to the bar.

The guitar player got naked and peed into his mouth during one song and left the stage, probably to take some more drugs. The drummer played a song by himself and it was clear where all talent in the band comes from. That aside, there was plenty of male on male kissing, nudity, drug use, and beer drinking. Pure rock and roll.
