So you probably already know about how we saw Q-Tip and talked to Andrew W.K. and everyone's now seen my awesome dance moves, but oh so much has happened since then. That night we also ate cheap pizza, made a friend named Lloyd from North Carolina, and saw a lady poop on the train. It was an eventful evening.
Lloyd ended up crashing with us at the squatters in bed-sty's place, and we spent the day checking out cool stores, before going to see some cool Baltimore bands playing inside of an unmarked building in a skeezy neighborhood. There was one called something like the Lexi Mountain Boys, which was a bunch of girls in weird outfits and beards doing weird a capella shit. Neato. Then we saw Food for Animals, which was easily my favorite show of the night. It was this guy with a laptop making this glitchy shit while two dudes rapped over it through delay pedals. And all the songs were about getting high. Then we saw Clockcleaner, who are a pretty good band on Load. They sounded like early '90s AmRep type shit or something, and the guy seemed like he wanted to be Steve Albini. Also strobe lights. It was already midnight, there were two more bands before Ecstatic Sunshine, and our bellies were full of cheap, nasty beer.
And so we were off to our next adventure! We headed over to Williamsburg and hung out at this bar called the Union Pool Room or something like that. We caught the tail end of a crazy Middle Eastern band called Neptune, who I am definitely going to have to check out when I get a chance. You should too! They had a guitar built out of a suitcase, a bunch of modular synth shit, and they rocked really hard.
Then we headed back to the lovely basement apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, hung out a while, and went to sleep. Today we ate at a cafe with our host lady, and it's raining. So now you know everything. Did I mention that we saw a lady poop on the train?
