This might already be taken care of, but if nothing else this will be the final nail in the coffin. So this 18 year old Brit (it's always the Brits) named Nick Haley made this Youtube ad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKQUZPqDZb0) featuring the all new Apple Touch with the CSS song "Music is My Hot, Hot Sex." This is key, because the song has the amazing line "music is where I would like you to touch," which perfectly sums up the Apple Touch's technological, social, and musical capabilities all rolled into one. Anyways, Apple caught wind of it, made slight modifications, and then proceeded to show it on tv DURING THE WORLD SERIES. So I guess --- no more CSS. I'm usually one to shy away from banning artists based on recent popular success, but you can't deny this one. THE WORLD SERIES??? Gimme a break.
This is also interesting because not long ago, CSS was associated with Zune (the crappy Microsoft version of the Ipod), and still is! Check it: (http://zuneinsider.com/archive/2006/10/13/1527.asp...). Man! Talk about playing both sides.
So yeah, in summation, the little Brazilian girl and one dude dance punk band I heard of for the first time at Pitchfork Fest 2006 is/are now millionaires and is probably on every rich kid's Ipod, so no more I say no more. If this is a non-contentious issue and has been discussed already (like some Spin magazine cover from the past or something), well more ammo for yer cannon.
damnit!
okay - i love apple products as much as the next guy - but if they keep playing hip music on all their ads and keeping me from playing it on my show im gonna get pissed - they also took feist (although so did a bunch of other products) - lameeee
