As the only KVRX sports guy who blogs about music, I think it's my duty to let you know how the Glass Candy show went in Houston: Well.
They were in Austin last Wednesday supporting Architecture in Helsinki, so maybe some of you have already seen them on this road trip. I was busy that night, plus I hate Emo's outdoor and their smoke-filled cattle pen of a venue.
This show was at the Backroom, which suits a Glass Candy show much better (as did Austin's Beauty Bar this summer). Spinning before the set were Bobby DJ and Jeffery Mac who played some great italo disco while I sat on a couch and watched a projection of Logan's Run (far out!).
Glass Candy were their usual fun selves, even if they only played about 45 minutes. Great people to talk to after the show, though. Johnny hooked me up with their new CD (Beat Box!) and the After Dark compilation from Italians Do It Better Records. Sweet beetz.
Too bad I had to drive through the 150-mile thunderstorm going both ways.
Man... yeah I'm sad I missed
Man... yeah I'm sad I missed Glass Candy (school keeps interfering with my life!), but I love smoky cattle pens.
