The 2008 election is in 1 year. Like you, i hate our system. I hate the electoral college, and the fact that my vote never matters because the Republican always wins Texas. However, did you know there are more Democrats in Texas than Republicans? People just don't vote.

Also, did you know that in Texas you don't have to register with a particular party to vote in the primary? This year, primaries are really important. Personally, my favorites this year are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. Hillary & Obama's health care plans are insane, and Rudy might spell the end of the world with his "go get em" foreign policy.
