Okay, so this is one of the websites that I check on a daily (puppy-ly?) basis. You need to see it for yourselves, but I'll give you a run-down of what it's about. People who are obsessed with their dogs send in photos of their furry friends with a short bio, and other readers rate them on a scale of 0-11 dog bones based on how cute they are and make comments on their favorite photos. The website's great on two levels: one, the dogs are typically pretty adorable, and two, the owners and the people who comment on the puppies say some unintentionally hilarious shit. It's good, clean fun. If you don't believe me, here's a dog bio from Bella the Yorkshire Terrier (written from her perspective, of course):
Bella says: "I left my dog family and moved in with the humans (who like to be called 'Mom and Dad') when I was about ten weeks old. It took me a little while to get used to the routine, but once I mastered the day-to-day tasks, I was running the place. It's good to be the queen. Of course, if the humans don't like my decisions and get crabby with me I quickly woo them back with my charm. I might even give them a treat and let them rub my belly. Suckers! However, I do have to say that I have a weakness for fresh rawhide chew toys and sun-warmed flooring. Oh well, we all have our vices."
PS I saw a girl checking this out about a week ago in the Fine Arts Library. I almost proposed to her on the spot.
