A Faulty Chromosome. A Google search yields nothing more than their MySpace, assorted blog entries, and some KVRX playlists. They're not even on Wikipedia. Who are these guys? They list bands like The Pastels, My Bloody Valentine and Magnetic Fields among their influences, which are apparent in their shoegazey sounds that embrace elements of twee pop and experimental music, as well.

All I'm sure of is that they are from L.A. and you can download their new album by making a donation (here) or for free (here). The album is called As An Ex-Anorexic's Six Sicks Exits, which doesn't top my list of greatest album titles, but does rank well among my favorite albums of 2007. It's dreamy, lo-fi, and has held up well after many, many, many listens.

P.S. I hear they may be passing through Austin during SXSW, perhaps even for a special KVRX event!
