No one ever talks about record labels --- it's all this band this, song that, concept album this, drummer's hat, lead singer's coke problem, bassist's boringness, yeah yeah yeah....
As a solution, each week "The Label Show" showcases a different independent record company. It doesn't matter what genre, what size, or how many records they got --- just as long as it's independent. Every week is a surprise, and will feature either an A to Z listing of bands, or a forward chronology depending on the label itself. Each show also includes a brief spoken history of the label, and will, using my mental, magical, musical prowess, impart to the audience fun facts and useful party anecdotes having to do with the label and its bands (it's like Mr. Smarty Pants but realllllyyy nerdy and having only to do with music).
Point being, by doing all this, we as music luvvers can gain new insight into not only bands we never knew existed (but who to our newfound delight actually totally rule), but also the valiant label that helped allow them to exist in the first place.
