The Kingston-based roots rock outfit, Rootz Underground, will be performing Friday night (3/14) at the recently opened Nomad Bar on Corona Dr. off of Cameron Rd. (behind the Conoco station).

You can check some of their music at: www.myspace.com/rootzunderground
I had the pleasure of interviewing lead singer Stevie G last Friday and aired portions of our conversation on my Monday night show. They're a very gifted group of musicians that fuse rock elements seamlessly into their own brand of roots reggae.
I'll be there rocking my CofC hat even though the Cougars got shut out of the NCAA tournament (again). I'm excited to go check this band out, though... maybe I'll see you there.
I know Rootz, they played in
I know Rootz, they played in Miami in December and destroyed the place with positive vibes. You should see them live in front of a crowd too, they played the Shore Club on Miami Beach one year and made a fan out of me. People were lined off on the roof tops of the buildings around the Shore Club clapping and screaming for this no name band from Jamaica.... it was amazing. The lead singer guy even teased the people about making too much importance of money and then sang the song "In My Hut"
Rootz is going to be one of the BIG bands in the world one day or music isn't real !!!

Giving Thanks!!
Love, Honour and Respect Everytime!
On behalf of the Rootz Underground Family we give thanks to each and every fan, new and old. It is very encouraging as a young, upcoming reggae band to hear and see comments like those here, especially in light of the fact that we have chosen to work with a sub-genre of Jamaican music that has fallen almost into obscurity - roots rock reggae. The gig in Miami at the Shore Club was our first outside the country, and to hear from someone who saw us there and has stayed true is truly the ultimate inspiration. New fans are great, important and appreciated, but "repeat customers" and loyal followers are the cornerstone and foundation of anything we achieve henceforth.
