Bracket? Busted.

As many of you may have noticed by the sports guys' takeover of this blog this week, there is some sort of basketball tournament going on right now. Yes, Texas plays tonight. Hopefully the games tonight can be as exciting as yesterday.

We had UCLA beating Western Kentucky. Expected. Look for the Bruins to cakewalk into the Final Four.

Same for North Carolina, who spent 10 minutes being challenged by Washington State until turnovers and an unforgiving basket rejected the Cougars' shots and chance at upsetting the overall top-ranked Tar Heels. UCLA and UNC face Xavier and Louisville, respectively, tomorrow in the Elite Eight for their Final Four bids.

The Midwest is where it gets a little more interesting as Kansas matches up against Villanova (a game the Jayhawks should win) and Wisconsin takes on lowest remaining seed Davidson. Davidson has a shot at overcoming Wisconsin's downtempo style and beating them on the run, but Bo Ryan has his Badgers overachieving as usual so look for Wisconsin to advance. Regardless, Kansas should make it out of this region without any trouble.

That brings us to the South. Stanford-Texas should be good, but my favorite to go to San Antonio is Michigan State, who is always a surprise team in late March and Tom Izzo should be given credit for perennially leading teams that have no business in the Sweet Sixteen.

So enjoy your Friday, good luck finding a seat at the bar tonight, and be thankful that in a week and a half we'll have fresher material to talk about.
