Chris got big because of a post o Reddit about him receiving acclaim from the faded away Ryan Adams: "This is a crazy and incredible record. Holy shit." Those where his words. But why would you listen to a guy who's trying every gimmick to be relevant again? Adams released a cover album of T. Swift's 1989, and he also got divorced: "Honey, what are you doing?" "Oh working on those Tay Swift covers." You could see why he was being divorced at his low point.
On to Chris, his album lacks sublety and creativity. His voice is like a soul singer but without his own soul. He follows the rules from the book of soul, and whoever follows that has no soul. The songs sound like Jack White without the White Stripes attitude. It has cockiness, and it's annoying to hear in a song form. There's nothing new here, he didn't need to waste money on this album, he should've just given up on rock & roll himself.
