Swedish Westkust's debut full length record, Last Forever, has been garnering lots of attention in and about the web, with glowing reviews from Spin, Stererogum, & more. It's not hard to hear why - the band has produced an excellent dreamy, late summer record ("0700" (4) would nestle nicely in a sunset roadtrip playlist). Though clearly influenced by 90s gloomy new wave, the album never comes across as a caricature of the genre - instead, the reverb and noisy guitars have been transposed with a modern shoegazy feel. Would recommend for all summery contemplative playlists.
