If you don't know Destruction Unit, there are 2 things you need to know: There is no band whos name better decrives the band than D-Unit; and I'm jealous of you, because whether its to your liking or not, the first time you hear DU and the first time you see them live, it's hard to not be affected. The first time I saw them I thought they sounded like kevin Shields (of My Bloody Valentine) backed by the 4 horsemen of the apocalyse. the songs are rife with noise, both electronic and electric, and it's hard to tell if that growling sound is form a guitar's talk-box, the boice of lead singer Ryan Rousseau, or the Devil himself. Rousseau (formerly of Tokyo Electron and Reatards, {also of note: Jay Reatard [RIP] and Alicja Trout were orginal member of DU}) holds his guitar high like he's Johnny Cash as he stirs this aural soup that obscures the still present song strucutrrs and directs his minions as they summon walls of sound (and blood). The album is mostl continous, which produces osme abrupt stops, but songs like "Proper Decay", "The Upper Hand", and "Judgement Day" are good places to start.
