It feels like writing a review for Deafheaven is pointless because literally everyone already has an opinion on them and this album definitely won't change it. I was turned off by the first couple tracks, something about them made me feel like I was listening to Metallica was a different vocalist. But as soon as the third track hit, I was immediately on board again. This is the sound I was looking for in this album, but it really gets perfected on the fourth track. George Clarke's piercing vocals just suck you in and they won't let you go. The instrumentation acts like a cascade of some sort, making you feel like you are drowning but in a beautiful way. The fifth track is the most ambitious one on here, using guitar tones I thought I'd never hear on a "metal" album. Anyway, if you liked Sunbather, you'll probably like this and if you hated it, you'll probably hate this too. Also this album is only 5 tracks long, but it's 43 minutes long. The shortest track is 8 minutes.
