Expert Alterations' words of wisdom, "You can't always be liked," ultimately become a self fulfilling prophecy. I was not a huge fan of this album. It's not bad, but if I were browsing bandcamp's free indiepop downloads, I wouldn't take the time to have this album emailed to me. "midnight garden" (3) and "the past and you" (6) have some interesting sunny guitar, but the lead singer sounds like every other hipster white guy vocalist trying to pull off not being able to sing, and that kills it a little for me. Similar to the Lucksmiths, but not as good.
