Tonight's the night. Tonight's the ni-i-ight.

Come one, come all to KVRX's second reggae benefit show. We've got an elite cast of local reggae musicians that will be performing at tonight's show at Ruta Maya (3601 S. Congress, next to the water tower).

Admission is $7 and is open to all ages. We'll start close to 9:00 pm and be partying until they kick us out at 2:00 am.

KVRX's second reggae benefit will feature roots, dub, and dancehall from Austin's top ranking acts including:

Contra Coup

Judge

DJ Dubbist will be spinning some classic Jamaican scorchers plus a light show will be provided throughout the night by Paul Baker's Vision System.

When Roots Attack! (the radio show) on at a special time Friday

Submitted by Selector J on Wed, 11/21/2007 - 01:58.

'When Roots Attack!' will be on from 7-9 AM on Friday (instead of the usual 5-7 AM) to wake you up with some vicious riddims. You can get a preview of what to expect at the "When Roots Attack! KVRX Benefit" as I'll be playing some music from the artists that will be performing live at Ruta Maya later on that evening.

McPullish will be hanging out with me and helping to pick out some tunes. Also, there's a possibility Judge may show up, too.

So tune in!

Benefit Concert for The Bellfuries

Submitted by SarahS on Thu, 10/04/2007 - 20:45.

This Sunday, October 7th at the Carousel Lounge from 3:30-7pm, The Bellfuries are having a benefit to raise money to distribute their finished record. The record is amazing- I've had the pleasure of sneaking a listen, and these guys need some help putting it out. Come on Sunday and hear the fabulous guitar picking of Adam Ahrens, the singer-songwriter smoky folky beauty of Dana Falconberry, and the rather avant-garde insanely rockin' one man show of Daniel Francis Doyle. The Bellfuries will go on last.
