Having not written much the past couple weeks, here's a quick rundown of all the sports at UT recently:

Kansas is coming down to Austin, currently #3 in the nation, only one loss on the road in Manhattan. Texas has survived during their current three game winning streak, and have done pretty well at home, only losing on a last second 3 to Brandon Flowers and Wisconsin. Joe Lunardi of espn.com's bracketology moved Texas up to a 2-seed following the OT road win over Iowa State.

I know a lot of Texas fans are now in the hopeful boat, with a chance to backdoor their way into the Big 12 title game. There are multiple scenarios, however, that can get Texas into the title game, and they don’t necessarily have to beat A&M to do it (though, they probably wouldn’t feel worthy of going if they ended up doing that).

Scenario 1: Texas beats Texas A&M and Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma. Texas wins the Big 12 South outright, and goes to the title game, no controversy needed.

Turns out Saturday had a lot of good things happening for the University. The weekend was set up for a good start when both basketball teams won their games, men by 33 and women by 59. The women in particular have a critical early game Sunday against #1 Tennessee, but that’s Sunday. Saturday had a lot of games set up to depress fans and dash their hopes, but that’s why they play the games.
