Last week, the Reverend and I made an agreement to host the other's show if our team became eliminated from the NCAA men's basketball tournament. While both of us are big Longhorn fans, we also have other allegiances: He, being a Kansas grad (currently a UT grad student), was rooting for the Jay Hawks and I, being the son of a UNC grad and life-long Carolina fan, was pulling for the Heels.

Austin's own soul shouter Black Joe Lewis is headlining at the Hole in the Wall, TONIGHT. His 2006 self-titled release on the Weary label charted at #3 here this week, after his 2007 EP had a nice long run on the Topless 39 charts.

This Wednesday from 7-9 AM on Blues At Sunrise, local Austin-based funk-blues-soul outfit Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears will be performing LIVE! This will be a great chance to hear these stellar up-and-coming artists do their thing in the KVRX Local Live studio before their upcoming performance on 11/30 at Victory Grill. We will also be giving away tickets to see their Victory Grill gig, so don't miss out!
