My biggest worry about this game coming in, and the reason that in my bracket (currently have one out of 3 final four teams) I had Memphis over Texas, was that the size of Memphis perimeter players in Derrick Rose (6′4”), Chris Douglas-Roberts (6′5”) and Antonio Anderson (6′6”) would be too athletic, big, and long for the Texas guards of AJ Abrams (5′10”), DJ Augustin (5′11”) and Justin Mason (6′2”). That proved to be too much with as Texas dropped the opportunity to return to the Final Four with an 85-67 defeat to the #1 seed and 36-1 Memphis Tigers.

Breaking down the Horns in the NCAA tournament: Week 1 - Little Rock

The Texas Longhorns enter the tournament with one of the best teams they've had in the Rick Barnes era, and considering where they'll be playing, the Horns probably have the 2nd best team in terms of the path they will take on the road to the Final Four.

Horns keep rollin' along, even in the Little Apple.

Texas basketball is getting pretty redundant these days, continuing their "dominant at home, pull 'em out on the road" style Monday against Kansas St, beating the typically pain in the butt Wildcats 74-65. Kansas St had beaten the Horns in pretty much every other sport possible this past year or so, just ask football, or Kevin Durant, or even women's basketball and Sunday baseball.

Texas takes revenge on the Ags.

Texas was looking to avenge their most recent defeat in College Station against the Texas A&M Aggies Monday back in Austin, and boy did they ever.

HUGE game against Kansas tonight.

Kansas is coming down to Austin, currently #3 in the nation, only one loss on the road in Manhattan. Texas has survived during their current three game winning streak, and have done pretty well at home, only losing on a last second 3 to Brandon Flowers and Wisconsin. Joe Lunardi of espn.com's bracketology moved Texas up to a 2-seed following the OT road win over Iowa State.
