La Quiete is scheduled to play live here in Austin on August 9th. We are very lucky to have a chance to see this band play live. They come all the way from Italy and rarely are able to come to the US. If you havent heard La Quiete make sure and check them out they are a very interesting sounding band and have members that were in Raein

One of my favorite bands is Ampere from Amherst MA. They have released everything from 5" records to 12". They are a very unique band and have decided to release records that are unique themselves with an array of different colors and sizes. 5" Split with Welcome the Plague Year

It's gonna be swell. I don't even really like hardcore per se, but something about Pissed Jeans makes me nuts. Maybe it's because singer Matt Korvette (great name, check) is an insurance claims adjuster for his day job (doofy day punk job my friends and I can relate to in a couple years, check). Or maybe cause they are from Philadelphia (dirty city, check). I don't know. It all adds up I'm sure. Should be a good show even if all the other bands are good for a laugh and nothing else.

So Saturday night while just about every white kid in town that casually likes hiphop was at the Aesop Rock show at Emos Me and my friends were on the inside of Emos seeing some great grind bands. There were 6 bands 2 of which were from Texas, Crotch on Fire and Hatred Surge. The show was really intense and overall grrrrreat. Hatred Surge was my favorite band of the night. For those of you that didnt know this already Hatred Surge is one of the best bands in Texas right now and is completely created by Alex Hughs formerly of The Machine Gun Romantics.
