Noah Kahan came back for his second ACL 2023 performance and decided to close out his time at ACL with a bang.

Last week, he brought out Mt. Joy on stage to sing an unreleased song, but weekend two had a new special guest. Last week, weekend one, Mumford & Sons brought Kahan out to the big stage for their headlining performance, but for weekend two the folk music icons switched it up.

Kahan brought out the headliners Mumford & Sons for some assistance on performing 'Call Your Mom’ from Kahan’s ‘Stick Season (We’ll all be here forever’ Album. This would be the first time ‘Call Your Mom’ would be performed live at Austin City Limits during Kahans’ time here, already making this performance extra special.

Mumford & Sons brought a special flare to this already special song with their presence, and somehow managed to make it even more emotional.

From witnessing this once in a lifetime experience in person, with my bare eyes, to the song choice and lyricism within it, I was in shock.

The boys harmonized on many heartbreaking words, the most influential for me being ‘Don’t let this darkness fool you, all lights turned off can be turned on’. While also having solos where you can be captivated by each legendary artist on stage, after you realize that you’re finally hearing this song live, of course.

While I know Kahan has already released a ‘Call Your Mom’ collaboration on all streaming platforms, what is one more recorded version with Mumford & Sons. For the people who want to reflect on the performance on repeat, and especially for the ones who didn’t get to witness this life changing experience live.

Beautiful performance I am ever so grateful for. One I will definitely never shut up about.
