The British singer-songwriter made his debut ACL performance at the big boy stage of Honda on Day 2, and he did NOT disappoint.

During his hour-long performance McKenna was not just singing, he was dancing, running, falling, and discussing important topics, all through his music.

Obviously having a blast with being at ACL, McKenna continued the bit of saying ““Austin I’ll tell u what I see, I see no limits” every few songs.

If you live under a rock, McKenna’s single “Brazil” blew up all over the internet throughout the past two years. While the song has a cheery beat you can’t help but move to, if you genuinely listen to the words, they are not happy. As he did write it about the hypocrisy of Brazil hosting the 2014 World Cup while ignoring realities Brazilians faced everyday during that time.

“I heard you sold the Amazon, To show the country that you're from, Is where the world should want to be”

“I'm gonna burn your house down to spread peace and love”

‘Brazil’ is not the only song where McKenna brings up social inequalities, much of his discography talks about important topicsWords from various news outlets spread across his screen as he ran around falling and cartwheeling while almost screaming.

‘Great way to fool me again hun, Great acting, it's great what you tell em, Great Britain won't stand for felons, Great British bombs in the Yemen’

McKenna closed out the performance with a message and a laugh - mirroring what many of his songs are known to be, impactful and entertaining. Very well played, Declan, very full circle.I like Declan because he makes music for rich kids to dance to as they dont realize he’s actually calling them, their lifestyle, and ignorance OUT! See him live for an unforgettable performance.
