“Remi! Remi! Remi!”
Following the anticipation from the crowd screaming her name, the performer hit the ACL stage on Saturday evening for weekend two of the festival.
“My goal is to get my energy and my band’s energy united with yours so that we can really complete the circle of life together,” Remi Wolf said. “And in order to get that started we will be doing some exercises.”
From directing people to shake their hands vigorously under their privates to commanding them to recite (butcher) a melody in her voice, Remi Wolf loosened and welcomed the audience for her silly, angsty, a little sleazy, but highly memorable performance.
Wolf performed the single “Toro" from her Big Ideas album and admitted it was about having fun all night in a hotel, encouraging listeners to indulge in the activity themselves.
The “Cinderella,” singer is a wild one, and nobody can try to stop her in her tracks to bring you on for the ride. Nor would they want to, since even the granola girlies and Gen Xers were getting down to “Disco Man.”
“Being different is okay,” Wolf said as she began performing a reworked version of her song, “Sexy Villain.”
Just when you think you’ve figured her out, she switches it up. Her creativity to be so quick with it is astounding, and this variation is found throughout her art. It’s what makes her worth watching. She doesn’t shy away from urging her fans to do the same.
The free-spirited artistry of Remi Wolf created a crowd of crazy clowns dancing along with wonky melodies and singing funky lyrics.
