How did you first hear about or get involved with KVRX?
My freshman year roommate was an RTF major and told me how he was going to a meeting for the radio station one night, and that I could get my own show. I jumped at the opportunity!
What shows have you had on KVRX?
Music Blender — Fall 2017 - Spring 2018 — Freeform
I’ve had a lot of shows on KVRX. My first show was called Music Blender, which was a freeform show during my first semester.
Tech Skill Tonight — Fall 2017 - Spring 2018 — CP
Throughout that time, I had a couple CP shows, one called Tech Skill Tonight that was about the wild world of competitive Super Smash Bros Melee (yes, I know).
No EDM — Fall 2018 — CP
I prepared mini history lessons on various electronic music genres.
Energy Lounge — Fall 2018 - Spring 2020 — Specialty
Focused mainly on Deep House.
The Residency — Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 — Specialty
My latest show The Residency started when I pivoted to playing techno on air. I also want to mention that I did KVRX continuously, except for one semester where I studied abroad at the University of Sussex. I had a show on their radio station, University Radio Falmer, which was a nice change of pace.
What is your favorite KVRX memory?
Undoubtedly going to the socials, when I did. Too many good memories to count of getting to talk shop with everyone.
Tell us about your final playlist!
My playlist is just a random assortment of some of my favorite house and techno tracks. Some are more recent, some are older, some are more upbeat, some are more laid back. I have fairly diverse tastes within electronic music, although I only spend time and effort curating a collection within a limited scope.
For my final show, I just want to play all my favorites from my time at KVRX because I spent a lot of time producing my show and looking for dance music that nobody else would ever play on the radio.
