Keep reading for what ten of our KVRXers are up to during the fall season and what music we’re plugged into :-)
"I’m walking to class in the morning. It is a cloudy and cold fall day. I’m listening to my music while thinking about what I will be wearing for Halloween. A leaf falls in front of me; I pick it up and add it to my collection of interesting leaves.” – Jake Nichols
“Driving around White Rock Lake in Dallas as the leaves started changing. Half of them were green and half of them were yellow and red. It looked like a Bob Ross painting; the sky was grey and cloudy which contrasted the bright leaves so beautifully!” – DJ Shrimpy
“Fall is the perfect season for Halloween movies, rom-coms, and sitcoms. I enjoy the two weeks in October when it’s the perfect temperature and I can wear tights :) Also, this is going to sound weird, but fall is the best season for pretending you’re that mysterious girl in a movie that disappears behind a bus.” – Medha Reddy
“Fall has always been my favorite time of year and the time I’ve felt most myself. My elementary school had a fall festival each autumn that I looked forward to all year and went all out for every time. I associate the season with coziness, warmth, and my favorite scents that fill the air along with the crispness of the weather. Not to mention it’s concert seasonnnn and lowkey the melancholic sense of fall is oddly comforting to me.” – DJ Doodle Bop
“I grew up in Upstate New York, and my favorite (and earliest) fall memory is my first trip to the Adirondack Mountains, where I saw an unending sea of red, orange, and yellow trees over the rolling hills (I love Austin, but it will never compare...). Even though Fall is super heavily romanticized, I don’t feel like it’s overhyped - we’re just celebrating getting an (eventual) break from the beating sun and constant 90+ degree temperatures. During Fall, I'm an avid coffee shop and Zilker park enthusiast; I will never turn down an over-priced over-sweetened latte nor a game of Spikeball with random high schoolers.” – DJ Wonderbread, Anywhere But Here
“I have made a couple films over the fall months. They’re Halloween themed. Pretty fun to hang out with my cousins and film those when it’s on-and-off hot outside.” – DJ RapM
“In the fall I really get into baking for some reason! So far I’ve already made pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies, pumpkin bread, banana bread, and a Dutch staple called ontbijtkoek. I have plans to bake more, but what I’m really excited about is trying my hand at an apple cider cake for a Halloween potluck :))” – DJ Emcee Stinkbox
“Fall is the best part of the year. It’s before Texas gets too dry, but right after it was too hot. The leaves fall and it feels like there’s almost always puddles on the ground from a slight rainfall over the night. There’s Halloween, Thanksgiving, pumpkins, (my birthday), and literally all the best parts of the year." – DJ Needs a Hobby
“I used to love walking home from my bus stop in high school listening to music, it was down a big hill covered in fall leaves and I would always stomp all the crunchy ones hehe.” – Anna Havner
“My fondest fall memory is of my first Black Friday shopping ‘spree’ with my dad after watching the football game. I was 12 years old and wanted to be like the Youtubers that would give massive hauls on their channels of everything they had bought. I ended up spending 2 hours at the mall with my dad spending some quality time and searching for the perfect gift for everyone and anyone I could think of in the moment. This kicked off the countdown to Christmas in my head ever since:)” – Daniella
“I always know it’s fall whenever it hits my birthday, October 1st, because the days suddenly feel windier, people are walking around with sweaters, the leaves finally start to fall from the trees, and I finally don’t feel sweaty when I walk from class to class. It’s the beginning of the best time of the year with Fall having the best holidays with Christmas right after. Fall is a representative of a new start to the school year where you can either change drastically like the fall leaves or just mellow out like the breeze going through your hair. I’m excited to spend my first fall in Austin because not only would I be in an entirely new environment, but I can also cherish the calm moments of fall with the new friends that I'm making this school year.” – Miguel Almanza
