Happy New Year from KVRX! We're thrilled to have our first show of the year at New Guild Co-op tomorrow night filled with a stacked lineup of bands and DJs... and rumor has it there might be a Bob Dylan lookalike contest. Yes, you heard me right! As we anticipate the show, we asked KVRXers to reflect on their favorite co-op show experiences. Read their responses below.
"My favorite co-op show was Die Spitz when they played Pearl last year, and the New Guild show last year" - DJ Venus
"My favorite co-op experience was the first time I went to a New Guild show cause I got to swing with my pals outside and then dance my ass off inside! So much fun!" - DJ Smiles
"Making new friends and seeing people's amazing outfits because they make me feel cool!" - DJ Nour
"My favorite co-op show I've been to was the TOPS VERSE BOTTOMS show at 21st Street last September, and I think it's just because I loved the vibe that was cultivated and I had a lot of good conversations with people I wanted to get to know better :) Living on the same block and being able to take breaks in a quiet(ish) space was also a plus!" - DJ Birdbrain
"I had a lot of fun at the New Guild Halloween party this year... I was buzzed and got my hands on a rake and sort of raked some of the leaves in the backyard dressed as a sailor." - DJ Duelo
"My favorite co-op show experience was at New Guild Co-op, on a night hosting bands outside, in the rain, with DJs inside. I remember seeing Knocked Out’s first performance and being in awe of their stage performance and the crowd’s reactions! I loved popping inside to take rest breaks and catch the DJ’s sets, notably Colin5ever’s. I got to also go out again to see Grocery Bag, and the pits that broke out were insane to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed the energy throughout the night and can’t wait for the next co-op show in the area!" - Anya Gupta
"The KVRX SxSW showcase last year was my first co-op show, and it was a ton of fun. There’s just something about a backyard show where you get to discover a ton of new bands that I love" - DJ Funk
"I loved KVRX’s New Year New Me Fest at New Guild last year! I had a great time with my friends listening to different unique artists! You just can’t beat live music ❤️" - DJ Squid
"I saw social dissonance at 21st Street Co-op a few months ago. Their lead singer went on a tangent before a song, saying it was about a horror movie and how scary it was. The song ended up being a cover of "Decode" by Paramore… from Twilight. I’m a huge Twilight fan, and I loved that. I met the lead singer after and she was so nice. I’ve been listening to them since!" - DJ Needs A Hobby
"Lowkey any party Aidan be djing that white boy got spins #DJDeepstatedagoat" - DJ Breathe EZ
