What's your position and how long have you been on staff?
Production Manager since Summer 2022
What is your typical day like as a staff member?
The day to day tasks are mostly online, like booking artists and keeping track of post-production. Being on set is the fun part! For Local Live, I try to arrive at 5pm and stick around until we’re done tearing down around midnight. I generally help out wherever I can, and try to keep everything running smoothly!
What do you do outside of KVRX?
I work and volunteer as an Emergency Medical Technician. I also work for UT Outdoor Recreation. Ideal night out involves good food and live music!
What is the name of your show? What is your show about?
No show rn, but would like to do a specialty show at some point that revolves around playing music from a different part of the world each week.
If you could only play one album on your show what album would it be? Why?
Eterno Retorno by Diana Gameros. This album helped me rediscover why I love music, and includes a pretty wide range of thematic tones.
Favorite concert?
Hard to say, maybe Nick Cave + The Bad Seeds with my Dad. One of the best concerts I’ve seen, plus a good bonding moment.
If you could have your favorite artist sing you Happy Birthday who would it be and why?
Mercedes Sosa. Her voice is epic, but I would definitely be embarrassed….
If you could only listen to one song on repeat for the rest of your life, what song would it be?
This question is evil. Maybe Simulation Swarm by Big Thief?
What's your favorite KVRX memory?
Local Live! It’s a great community and very fun to be part of something with so many moving parts.
Lastly...what advice would you give to the new DJs?
There are so many ways to get involved in KVRX, have fun with it!
