the Radio Killed* the Corrido!

from to

The advent of the radio effectively killed the longform, traditional corrido. Okay. . .  "kill" is a hyperbole. The creation of the radio did shorten the traditional corrido (as well as commercial 7-12" LPs), however, it pushed the genre to a wider audience and its contemporary iteration(s) is one of the most popular genres of music today. Join me in listening to longform corridos along with other longform music that isn't given as much love on the airwaves as they should, Cheers!
