HILLBILLY JAZZ
Every Monday from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Inspired by bluegrass legend Kenny Baker’s description of the genre as “nothing but a hillbilly version of jazz,” this show explores the intersections of the seemingly disparate yet distinctly American musical traditions of jazz and bluegrass as well as their various incarnations and other related genres. We’ll also be showcasing a variety of folk/traditional and jazz-influenced music from around the world and discussing music as a means of preserving, sharing, and celebrating culture and traditions.
